Chairman Phil Kennedy, President of Comanche Home Center
"As quality health care benefits are very important to me and my workforce, we are extremely satisfied with our current plan.  Federal health care reform must support and encourage the private sector marketplace, not compete against it."
Phil Kennedy, President of Comanche Home Center and Chairman of The State Chamber of Oklahoma

State Chamber Joins National Coalition Of Chambers Calling For Careful Consideration Of Health Care Reform Legislation – The State Chamber of Oklahoma has joined a coalition of twenty state chambers across the nation called Employers for Quality Health Care.  This growing coalition was created to better spread the word about the current health care reform debate occurring in Congress.  We strongly support the ongoing efforts of national organizations such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers in their attempt to analyze and evaluate the implications of the many health care reform issues under consideration.  To see a copy of the press release announcing this coalition, click here.  To see a copy of the letter sent to Congress as well as President Obama, click here.  Please note our unified message which acknowledges those reform actions we support and those we oppose. As you can see by the creation of this coalition, many across the nation share our view!

National InformationNation’s Investment In Infrastructure Inadequate – Investment in the nation’s infrastructure is inadequate, according to an article in the most recent edition of “uschamber.com”, the newsletter of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  “Chronic underinvestment, misuse of funds, poor planning and opposition from anti-growth activists have led to crumbling highways, railways, waterways and aviation and wastewater systems, as well as underdeveloped broadband networks, transmission lines, and electricity grids,” says the chamber. According to studies, the U.S. would have to invest $225 billion per year from all sources over the next 50 years to maintain and adequately enhance these infrastructure needs, but is currently spending less than 40 percent of that amount.
