| With more than 131,000 Oklahomans working for a manufacturer in Oklahoma, we know that manufacturing contributes more than $15.5 billion to our gross state product - more than 11 percent of Oklahoma's total gross product. We also know that manufacturing jobs pay better than other sectors and create more jobs than other sectors of our economy. Unfortunately, our state legislators don't necessarily understand the importance of who you are and what you do. |

| The State Chamber serves as Oklahoma's Manufacturers' Association as well as representing all other businesses at the state capitol. We invite you to come to the state capitol on Tuesday, February 16th and visit with your state representative and senator. Let them know what your important issues are, and how they can help create jobs in Oklahoma. |

| A recent strategy session of the Manufacturers' Council of The State Chamber suggested that we need to focus on the following key issues that impact manufacturing: |
- Funding for existing worker training
- Allowing tax credits for the difference between manufacturing patterns in Oklahoma vs. overseas
- Allowing manufacturers to take a double deduction on the costs incurred by them to complete courses of education enhancing their ability to become centers of manufacturing excellence
- Complete restructuring of Oklahoma's workers' compensation system
