Oklahoma City (March 1, 2019) – State Chamber President & CEO Fred Morgan released the following statement after today’s press conference by Governor Kevin Stitt, House Speaker Charles McCall and Senate Pro Tempore Greg Treat:

“We are extremely pleased that the House, Senate and Governor’s office have reached an agreement on direct appointments and government accountability and will be fast-tracking this legislation,” said State Chamber president & CEO Fred Morgan. “These measures—as noted in our OK2030 plan—will increase accountability within our state’s largest agencies, reduce the likelihood of financial scandals and help restore people’s faith in state government. We commend Governor Stitt and the Legislature for their unified commitment to making these vital reforms a priority this session.”
