2017 Health Care Report

The Economic, Fiscal and Employment Effects of Health Care Modernization in Oklahoma (February 2017)
There is an active debate at the federal level about the future of the Affordable Care Act, but Oklahoma may still have the opportunity to support a health care modernization initiative that uses federal funds to implement a private insurance program for low-income uninsured Oklahomans. 2016 Economic Impact of the Oil and Gas Industry in Oklahoma

The importance of the oil and natural gas industry in our state has been reaffirmed through an updated report, Economic Impact of the Oil & Gas Industry on Oklahoma. The report shows that almost 150,000 Oklahomans earned $15.6 billion in wages or self-employment income from oil and natural gas activity in 2015, and that public education received $331 million in oil and gas severance tax revenue. Other significant economic impacts are also identified in the full report and the executive summary

Ad Valorem Tax Exemption Study

As an aid to policymakers, this report examines the economic role of the Oklahoma manufacturer’s ad valorem tax exemption. While the exemption has been in place for nearly three decades, the economic contribution of the program has received only limited evaluation. This report documents the structure and usage of the exemption in recent years and develops a comprehensive framework for estimating the economic contribution of the exemption to the state economy.
